Keep marinated chicken refrigerated as soon as you receive it and follow the use-by guidance on the pack. Store it in a sealed container or on a lower refrigerator shelf to prevent contact with other foods.
If you are not cooking it soon, check whether the product instructions allow freezing and use suitable freezer-safe packaging. Thaw frozen chicken in the refrigerator rather than leaving it at room temperature.
Wash hands, boards, and utensils thoroughly after handling raw chicken. Use separate serving plates for cooked food, and never reuse leftover raw marinade unless it has been properly cooked.
